Patrick,
Thanks for your reply. BTW I agree this is a great site, lots of helpful info.

Also worth a look is: http://www.gsresources.com/q_and_a.html
This is a page for older GS750 4 cylinder bikes, but the carbs (though multiple) are similar to those on the GZ250

Heres the latest on my problem. Following Peters helpful reply last Friday, I could not resist going out to my Garage and fiddling with the petcock and Tank lid, I did not really do anything, just tried tightening those 4 screws at the back( they seemed tight already) and fiddling with the rubber seal on the lid.

Then as already arranged I drove the bike to the shop Saturday morning ( about 10 miles) , it ran perfect, Had my "fiddling" done somethhing the previous evening or was it just that it was a warm morning ?
In fact it was such a beautiful day and the bile was running so well I reluctantly handed over the keys in the shop.

Anyway the shop never opens Sunday or Monday and we had agreed they should keep it overnight to try a run from cold, They said they were going to work on the Carb again and I was dealing with the shop owner this time so at least they seem to be taking it seriously.

So today I go in to collect the bike and they have completely replaced the Carb ! Its a span new Carb.

So far so good I have ridden the bike about 10 miles and it seems to be running well, but I need a cold morning to be really sure.

Will keep you posted.

PS: The Bike is also called a GZ250 here but has a Marauder badge on the tank, just a marketing thing I guess.
